Sand dunes lurk deep beneath bay discovery could help limit beach erosion

They are creeping along the bottom of Monterey Bay, hundreds of
feet below the ocean's surface. In the cold blackness, they stretch
up to 15 feet high and 200 feet long. Blue whales? Sea monsters?
Sand dunes. And CSUMB professors Doug Smith and Rikk Kvitek are
involved in the research.
